Vertic is a digital transformation consultancy. We have spent over a decade implementing Salesforce and building our own software for organisations whose work changes lives.
We choose who we work with. Disability and aged care providers, animal shelters, fundraisers, community organisations. Different sectors, one thing in common: the work matters to someone, and usually to someone who has few other options.
These organisations rarely have the budget or the internal team a commercial business takes for granted. What they do have is people who care enormously, spending too much of the week on admin that helps nobody. Our job is to give that time back.
Technology is never the point. What it frees people to do is.
A successful implementation is not a technical event. It is a human one. Systems fail not because the technology was wrong, but because nobody asked the people doing the job what the job actually involves.
So that is where we start. We run workshops with support workers, shelter staff, fundraisers and coordinators, not only with the people signing the contract. What we hear there shapes the design, and it is the reason our implementations are still in use years later.
We plan for the human change journey as deliberately as the technical one, including the fears people will not say out loud. And we stay past go live, through training, support, upgrades and the next release, because that is where most of the value actually turns up.
The organisations we work with look after people, animals and the places all of them depend on. Different work, seen from different angles, and all of it better on a system built by someone who understood it first.
Every stage of a delivery has a technical half and a human half. Most projects run the top half and hope the bottom half sorts itself out. We run both, from the first conversation through to the release after next.
The oldest trick in consulting is sending the senior team to win the work and a different team to do it. We do not have a different team.
Whoever scopes your project delivers it. You will not meet a principal at the pitch and a graduate at the kick off.
We take on fewer projects than we could. It means the people working on yours know your organisation, rather than reading a handover note about it.
The same faces through training, upgrades and the release after that. Knowing why a decision was made two years ago is worth more than any document.
No pitch team, no handover. The people you talk to first are the people who will build the thing. Start with a conversation and see whether we are a fit.
